Today, we began editing all the clips we had so far. All our members were present today, so my group had hope for today. We were at a great start because we filmed several shots of each scene to make sure they were the right length. My group and I made sure we had both long and short shots. This is because we wanted to be able to cut some scenes short if it was needed. It started with almost 15 minutes of footage, but we brought it down to 10 mins. Slowly, but surely, we will have the 5 minutes complete. We didn't have much time to work on it because we had a short meeting, but we tried to get as much as possible done. We decided we were going to use Imovie and Capcut to edit our short film. This is because my group and I wanted to use both the features on those 2 apps. We began on a computer with editing, but may use our phones if needed. We will insert the music later, but we spent most of today reviewing the shots and putting them in order.   Brianna, Macaria and I began planning what our next day of filming will look like. Alejandro did not show up to school today, so we had him on the phone while we discussed. None of the days we were suggesting had worked for all of us. This is because Alejandro insisted that he had to work every possible day. My group and I started to lose hope because Alejandro wasn't doing anything. Brianna, Macaria, and I just decided that we were going to film about half a month between so that we can have time to review all the shots. We want our film to be at its best, so we are trying every possible way to make it good. We already began looking at some shots in our free time separately, but we made sure that we could work together to find a day. Alejandro wasn't really participating at this point, so we tried not to worry and move on. Today, we spent time picking new music. We messaged Khalid a while ago and he still hasn't seen ut. Since Khalid hasn’t answered our messages, so we didn’t to have any other artist options. My group and I didn’t think Frank Ocean would respond back or even on time. Because of that, we didn't attempt to message him. We started looking for some royalty free music. However, none of the options were good enough for our film in our opinion. We kept finding other ways that we can use so that the music would be good. Since we think music is one of the most important parts of the film. We found some potential ideas. We thought of the idea of remixing a song, so that it wouldn’t be copyrighted. We started editing the song we originally had which was "Coaster." We editing the speed and the sounds in the background to see if we can still use it. Today we began filming the short film. The girls got to my house around 2:00pm and Felipe arrived around 2:30pm. We got through all of Felipe’s parts fast, so we can move on quickly. Alejandro texted us last minute saying he couldn’t make it. We didn’t want this to push our plans back, so we filmed without him. We completed around half of the film the first day. We saved them to my computer right after to make sure we don’t lose them. We saved all the props and clothes we used today so that we don’t have to film the same scenes again the next time we film. We made sure that Brianna would remember to bring the same clothes because she can’t be wearing blue sweatpants in shot and grey in the next. Felipe left my house after his parts were done because he had work within the next hour. Macaria left around 7:00pm and Brianna left around 8:00pm. Today, my group and I were deciding what days we will be filming. This was difficult for our group to set up dates specifically for many reasons. Brianna takes martial arts classes several days throughout the week. Alejandro works at his job 6 days a week. I have dance everyday of the week and have dance competitions within the next few weekends. Macaria is one of the only teammates that can really fit our potential dates easily because she doesn't do much things afterschool. Based on this, we wrote down all the days we can not and came up with a few days. We have come up with February 18th in the afternoon until sundown. We have also thought of March 10th through 12th. We will have to work efficiently and productively to finish since we don't have that much time. Thankfully, I know Brianna and Macaria are good workers, so I can count on us to be productive. Today, my group and I worked on picking music for our short film. We wanted a song that can help emphasize what the characters are going through. This will allow the audience to connect emotionally to the short film on a deeper level. Brianna suggested that we should use one of Khalid's songs because many of his songs are very popular for being "relatable" to his target audience. I had suggested a few songs by Frank Ocean because his songs give a very emotional impact as well. It took time to think about what we were going to choose. However, we thought it may be better to pick Khalid due to my group and I having a greater liking for one of his songs. After we decided, we decided to message him on Instagram so that we can ask for his approval to use his music. This was for copyright reasons. Without his consent, we won't be able to use his  music.
