First Day of Editing!

Image
Today my group and I began editing our film. We planned to split the editing part into 2 days. My group and I decided that we would be productive with the editing process due to the small amount of time we had. We first decided to use the CapCut app to edit our film. We picked CapCut because we noticed that this app was becoming more popular. For example, many people would create videos using CapCut and posts portions of what they made following with a shoutout to the app for being good. My group and began I by putting all the clips in order. After, we cut all the shots down to fit within the time limit. All the shots together without cutting it would have made around 3 minutes. This meant that we had get rid of around 1 minute worth of footage. We also realized that in one of our scenes, we were able to see Hannah filming me through the window. This meant that we had to find a way to get rid of Hannah's reflection. Due to my group and I not having much time to edit today, we weren

Production at My House

Today we restarted filming due to the change in costumes. The girls came around 6:00 p.m. and we started right away. I started doing Hannah and Briana's makeup. Meanwhile, Mila and Maria started filming their parts. They used a tripod to film their shots, because Hannah and I were busy at the moment. Once I finished the twins' makeup, we all began filming the scenes that included Mila, Maria and I. After we finished filming their parts, we refilmed most of my parts. This is because Mila, Maria, and I had previously filmed during day time. Hannah recently suggested that it should have been all at night time. Approximately two hours later, my mom brought us food and we took a dinner break. We all agreed that we needed to be productive, so that we did not waste time. While we were eating, we discussed which shots we would get completed today. We also identified scenes that would be left for the next time we meet. After we finished eating, we started filming the shots that included

Mis-en-Scene

My group and I have been very productive throughout this project. This has helped us move faster through the process of this film. However, we decided to go back and refilm some scenes. This is because we want to make this project the best possible. We realized that Hannah and Brianna's outfits did not suit their characters' roll in this film. They originally thought about some clothing that they own, but unfortunately, they could not find where it is at the moment. Because of this, we decided to go shopping for new customes at the mall. We all agreed that our best choice was to go to the mall because we would have more options in one place. We started at H&M looking for some jeans. Surprisingly, we could not find anything appropriate and that we liked at that store. We left this store and started heading to American Eagle hoping to find other options there. We all felt hungry on our way there and unanimously decided to stop by the food court. After eating, we walked straig

Change of Plans for Filming Day

Image
My group and I had planned to film yesterday, but for several reasons, we had to change the original plans. Mila's dance practice was extended for an extra 30 minutes. Maria's soccer game got postponed to an hour later due to bad weather. Lastly, Hannah got sick the day before our scheduled filming day. Same as the other team member, she was unable to meet. We wanted to be productive and avoid wasting time. Therefore, due to the cancellations we organized ourselves to complete what we could. We decided to go on a Facetime call and discussed the new plan of action going forward. We made decisions on how we are going to film the remainder of the project within the next 2 weeks.  We also agreed and scheduled extra days for filming to ensure the project will be timely completed. In addition, we discussed how we are going to edit the final tasks. We unanimously decided which app we will be using to edit. Maria, Mila, and I have planned to film tomorrow, although it is not final yet,

Production Blog: Music

My group and I have worked very hard to contact people who made the music we would like to use for our final task. We contacted Tate McRae and Hailee Steinfeld through my Instagram account and Hannah's as well. I contacted Tate on January 31st the first day my group and I met together. This is because we wanted to give Tate enough time to respond. After a while, we started to worry, so Hannah decided to message Tate as well as Hailee on February 23rd. My group and I chose to message Hailee as well because we also thought one of her songs would be a good fit for our thriller themed final task. Hailee's song would be our one of our back up plans in case Tate does not respond. We wanted to raise the chances of receiving a response back, so we took this action. We are currently concerned on whether they will respond back or not though since they haven't already. This is because our music will be needed sooner than later, so we need to have a second plan. This is also, because i

The Start Of Production

Image
Today, my group and I had our very first production day. We have had planned to film this day for about a week or two. It was very hard to make this day due to all of our busy schedules. My mom left the house before the girls arrived because she had to go to church, but she had left snacks and drinks for us to have. Hannah, Briana, and Mila arrived at my house around 3pm. Maria had a soccer game at 4, so she arrived at around 6pm and showered after she arrived. While Maria was at her game, Hannah, Briana, Mila, and I worked on the scenes that didn't include Maria. We were able to get most of the scenes that Maria was not a part of done. When Maria arrived and finished showering, we got straight to work. We began about 30 minutes after she got here. We made sure that all the parts we filmed earlier, looked good and that all the important details were included. My group and I made sure we had all the props we needed and included in the right scenes. We knew our props, costumes, and l

Storyboard

T his sheet introduces and establishes some of the characters who will have a roll in this story. It begins when the girls are exiting their car and entering the main character's (Grace) house. Then the setting is moved to Grace's bedroom and continues there for the rest of the scenes. We do not use props in the first scene, but they will be used in subsequent scenes. The characters would be wearing ordinary day casual attire. Some camara angles and movement present in theses six scenes are wide shots, medium closeup, full shot, eyelevel, and tracking shot. We will also be using editing techniques like zooming in and out to enhance details. There are a total of two title names within these six boxes.  These are the names of the actors, name of the studio and name of the production company.      This sheet will introduce the twins, who are the characters that bring the thriller aspect. The scenes portray on the sheet (scenes 2, 3, 4) take place in many locations inside and
