Filming The Last Half


Today we were finishing our filming process. Our main goal today was to complete filiming everything leftover within the film. It is crucial that we get it done, so that we can continue editing and see what we are missing. My group and I wanted to make sure we started today on a positive note. We needed a turn around after not being able to film yesterday. Brianna had said that her sister has gone to the doctor and she just had a cold, Macaria found a ride to my house, so I was greatful for that. Alejandro didn't show up at all to filming which was diappointing because we needed him there. Macaria, Brianna, and I were frustrated by this, but didn't let this affect us in our filming process. We were able to film in an organized fashion. We brought all our props that we planned to bring. Lunch came and we ate quickly and got straight to work again. We improvised when it came to scenes with all 3 of us. My group and I propped the phone on a table or chair to film some parts. We didn't let a small problem like this affect us when filming. We continued to work on schedule and things went very well. My dog, Percy, was barking a lot, so I had to ask my mom to help us keep him quiet so we can continue filming. Macaria suggested including him in some parts of the film, so we did. He was a very good actor while we were filming. He was well behaved and made a good extra in the film. We were able to finish the film today and can now continue to edit.

  Brianna, Macaria and I began planning what our next day of filming will look like. Alejandro did not show up to school today, so we had him on the phone while we discussed. None of the days we were suggesting had worked for all of us. This is because Alejandro insisted that he had to work every possible day. My group and I started to lose hope because Alejandro wasn't doing anything. Brianna, Macaria, and I just decided that we were going to film about half a month between so that we can have time to review all the shots. We want our film to be at its best, so we are trying every possible way to make it good. Final Task

This project was a very fun experience. My group and I did struggle at the beginning for many reasons. However, we were able to resolve any issues and work together productively. My group and I spent a lot of time creating this project. We hope that people will enjoy our film. I learned many new techniques on how to film and edit due to this project. I’m glad I was able to learn new techniques because I know that I can now use them in future projects.

Last Day of Editing

Today, we spent our last day editing our short film. This part was crucial since it was our last day working on it, so we had to work hard. At this point, my group has been well prepared with production. Because of this, we didn't have much left to work on. We began inserting all the shots we refilmed on our last filming day. My group and I cut the shots and adjusted them. We then put them in the order of the scenes so that we could fill in the gaps. We had more than 5 minutes, so of course we next cut the shots to make it equal to 5 minutes. As we were cutting the scenes, we made sure we didn't delete any important footage. We picked from the new options we had from the day we reshot the scenes. We didn't use any of the shots now that we had better ones. We then inserted the music and adjusted it into the short film.
